With over 6,000 members, Girlguiding Oxfordshire is a thriving organisation, supported by around one thousand volunteer leaders.

We offer girls and young women in the County a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. While giving them the chance to discover their full potential and encouraging them to be a powerful force for good.

      Rainbows

      Rainbows is our section for girls aged five to seven.

      Being a Rainbow is all about learning, developing self-confidence and building friendships. Rainbows are encouraged to learn about working together and being kind and considerate to others, and also to think about the wider world. Although Rainbows do sometimes do badges and challenges, the main focus is on having lots of fun!

      Brownies is our section for girls aged seven to ten.

      Brownies meetings are fun and varied, featuring arts, crafts, cooking, games, visitors and projects. Brownies can also extend their knowledge n working towards a wide variety of badges, such as the Environment Badge, the Science Investigator Badge and even a Circus Skills Badge! They may also go on Pack Holiday, camp, or a sleep...

      Guides have the chance to get out there and do something really different.

      Members take part in a wide range of exciting activities by participating in their unit’s varied weekly meeting programme and at special events or holidays. Girls can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects.

      Members can choose from a wide range of unique and exciting opportunities, including travel in the UK and around the world, volunteering with younger girls within Girlguiding as a Mentor or Leader, and working towards valuable qualifications.
