Iceland

Dear Oxfordshire County,

I have recently just come back from my amazing trip to Iceland. I had the most fantastic 10 days where I overcame fears, made new friends, and had a very adventurous experience that I will keep with me for the rest of my life. We stayed in a hostel for the first couple of nights then we moved into tents for the rest of our stay there. We went to the blue lagoon, whale watching, Icelandic pony trekking, glacier hiking, kayaking and our service day. We made friends with the leaders at the scout centre and the others that stayed there. We had a bit of rain but that didn’t dampen our moods towards the activities. We went out every day except one day where we helped the camp site with their jobs such as weeding and taking out masses of grass from the raised beds, which was hard work, but as we worked together it was easier. I really enjoyed my time in Iceland, the scenery is incredible and it was truly brilliant to experience it how I did with other guides that I never knew, that are now some of my best friends.

We had a couple of social media pages on the trip if you would like to have a look they are:

Thank you for your funding towards my trip because without your help I would have not been able to go on this life changing trip!

Yours thankfully
Aimee Duncombe
