On the 19th of March, 1st Middle Barton Guides and some very brave
leaders went to Jubilee House in Oxford for a sleepover. Our aim of the
weekend was to gain the “Wonderland” badge, based on Alice in
Wonderland. To do this, we did lots of exciting activities such as
croquet with tent mallets and going round the assault course, in the
lovely sunshine, to find the Queen of Hearts – we even had a troll
underneath the wobbly bridge!

We also had a jobs rota so everybody was very helpful. For tea, we made lots of cakes which were very very yummy. In the evening, we all prepared some entertainment and had a campfire, where we all sang lots of songs and Alba, Poppy, Amelia & Milly made their guide promises. Then, the young leaders were so tired that they all went to bed and fell asleep before anyone else! In the morning though, the young leaders were wide awake and were instructing everybody round the assault course, in their pyjamas & slippers! Overall, we had a lovely weekend and would like to thank Rachel & Lucy very much.
