4th Wantage Guides went litter picking around the Health Centre on Mably Way , Wantage, on Monday 4th April. The local guiding units take it in turns to keep the area free from rubbish once a month. The girls were decked out in luminous vests and protective gloves and used litter pickers. They collected bags full of rubbish. In its own small way, the event neatly fulfils one aspect of Girlguiding UK ‟s statement of purpose, enabling girls to make a difference to the world.

It wasn't all hard work though, as the girls then enjoyed an Easter egg hunt in the ever– Increasing darkness!
Leader Sally Matthews said: “We had great fun doing the litter picking and were also able to do something for our community! But the girls also enjoyed their Easter eggs and had worked hard to deserve the treat.”
