Junior Awards Winner 2011


The prestigious national 'What's On 4 Junior 2011' Awards took place on June 9 at the Hilton Cobham Hotel in Surrey and 1st Kingham Brownies were revealed as a national winner! The awards, in association with Konfidence and as supported once again by Prima Baby & Pregnancy Magazine, are now in their fifth year and celebrate the best activities, classes and party providers from all over the UK, as nominated and voted for by the experts - PARENTS! 1st Kingham Brownies, Chipping Norton district achieved national acclaim in the Best Uniformed Group category meaning that they have been recognised as one of the very best by the UK's parents.

Nicki Watson stepped into run the unit when the previous leader left 2.5 years ago. Nicki had never been in Guiding before but has recently completed her ALQ. Katie White joined the unit as assistant leader 18months ago. The unit currently has 22 girls and were thrilled to hear their unit had won the award.

What's On 4 founder, Sam Willoughby - "We welcomed over a 100 finalists and their guests on the day, all as voted for by the UK's parents. It was a privilege to meet so many passionate and committed business owners, franchisees and individuals, all wanting to offer the very best to the children and parents they meet. It was an emotional, inspiring and unforgettable event and thank you so much to everyone who played their part!' All winners and finalists received a certificate and then enjoyed a delicious champagne lunch and the opportunity to network with other VIP guests, sponsors, speakers and supporters.
