Adventure Day at Longridge

On the 14th May 2nd Kidmore End brownies had an adventure day at Longridge Activity Centre in Marlow. The day started beautifully with 2 groups bell boating up the Thames – 10 girls in each boat. We heard intriguing tales of the crocadillo carelessly released into the murky waters by a mad scientist. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) no sightings were made by the eager brownies! After we dried off and topped up on tasty snacks, the girls went climbing. All of them made great efforts to climb as high as they could and showed real determination.

Picnic lunch was topped up with extra bread sticks and fruit and the brownie were free to play in the park.

After lunch half the girls go-karted, with great enthusiasm. Even the leaders had a go and raced around for their teams! Jacobs ladder finished the day which consists of 10 logs suspended high off the ground (like a giant ladder). Three girls at a time worked as a team to ascend the “rungs” belayed by their fellow brownies who watched and shouted encouragement from below. The girls truly fulfilled their Brownie promise of “doing their best” and “thinking of others” as they persevered to get to the top – amazing to watch.

Huge thanks to all the staff at Longridge for making the day such a success!
