Reopened for the summer term

1st Peppard Guides has reopened for the summer term! It is now led by Jo Waugh (works at The Chiltern Centre in Henley and a former Sonning Common Guide) and Merryn Ough (a teacher at Sonning Common Primary from Shropshire) who between them have a wide range of Guiding experience. We have had an exciting first time getting to know each other and have lots of things planned for the year to come including a trip to London Guide style!

We had a flying and furry visit recently from Sadie at Feathers & Fur, Maidenhead. We met Jacob and Edward, the two very friendly and photogenic guinea pigs; Bob Tail and Gimley, two very funny and a little smelly ferrets; George the giant rabbit, Willow the barn owl and Charlie, a 12 week old very hungry eagle owl! All the Guides learnt about how to handle the animals and birds and everyone got a turn to have a stroke or have the birds fly to their fist! Sadie is passionate about the animals and birds and everyone enjoyed her telling us the backgrounds of the animals and birds and learning facts and dispelling myths.

We plan to pay Sadie a visit soon at her base at Ladds Garden Centre on the A4 in Maidenhead to visit all her other animals and birds. www.feathersandfur.co.uk
