Let it snow !

While most of Oxfordshire groaned as blizzards gripped the county in the middle of December, 2nd Faringdon Brownies squealed in delight as the snow fell perfectly for their Christmas pack holiday.

After the girls made stockings, presents and their own wrapping paper, the ideal activity was snowballing the leaders outside the house at Thirtover Place in Newbury which they had taken over for the weekend before Christmas.

Some of the girls chose to roll themselves in the snow which provided perfect entertainment ahead of a full Christmas dinner which they all ate in their best party outfits.

Some mums and dads were a little worried about how they might reach the girls on the Sunday morning down snowy country lanes, but they all made it there safely and were greeted with home-made mince pies from the girls.

Assistant leader Sarah Gibbons, 'Venus' to the girls - or 'Penguin' in the kitchen on holiday - said: 'We could not have organised the snowfall more carefully if we'd tried! It was perfect for our holiday and provided ready-made activities for everyone.

'We know lots of other people were complaining about the problems caused by the snow but it really made our Christmas party holiday extra special and I'm sure we'll all remember that weekend for many years to come!'
