Young members from all over Ridgeway Division, including Didcot, Wallingford, and Cholsey officially handed over more than 100 tins of cat, dog and hamster food to the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary Society shop in Didcot.
The girls, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members had been set the challenge of collecting as much pet food as possible by their Division Commissioner, Angela Newlands.
Most of the food had been taken to the shop just before Christmas, to make sure that the abandoned animals cared for by the Stadhampton Sanctuary had a super Christmas dinner. The snow had stopped the last couple of boxes of food being handed over by Rebekah, Izzie and Bethany, so in early January they took them along to Gillian Burton, Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary Society shop co-manager, who said that they were delighted to have the extra supplies and it had all been gratefully received.
