1st East Hagbourne at the Didcot BACAs!

On 14th October, 1st East Hagbourne Brownies and Guides were proud to be guests at Didcot First's Business and Community Awards.

The Brownie and Guide Leadership team were honoured to be nominated and shortlisted to receive an award and, during the evening, a succession of very worthy businesses and community groups were presented with certificates celebrating their services to areas such as ethical stance and community partnership.

The team had tears in their eyes as they listened to a story about the amazing work that they do in the community and were then presented with a Special Commendation for Customer Services.

Brown Owl Penny Gilbert said: "I think I speak on behalf of all the leaders when I say that we LOVE being part of our community and bringing Guiding to the girls who join us each week.

The fun and excitement we all enjoy (girls and Leaders!) makes volunteering such a worthwhile experience and it is so special and magical to have been nominated and recognised for the work we do. We would like to say a huge thank you to those parents and girls that took the time to think of us and nominate us for this brilliant award."
