A History of Guiding 1960 – 2010

The centenary is a time to look back as well as forward – so we’re putting together a book to celebrate Girlguiding’s rich history in the county.

Share a special Guiding memory
Contributions are invited from anyone who is, or has been, involved in the movement since its beginnings in 1910 in any and every capacity - Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section, Guiders, Trefoil Guild and former members!

What we’re looking for…
We’re looking for short stories (250 words max) that give colour and background to Guiding, so current and future generations can see how the movement has evolved – or stayed the same – over the decades. You could write about your own experiences, or interview a unit friend or a family member. Topics might include camping, the outdoors, International Guiding, special events, ‘girl power’, uniform, traditions, or anything else you think of!

Those aged under 18 please include name, age and unit.

Hand-written entries will be accepted, as will typed Word documents. However, you can also download a form for use with your unit should you decide to do it as a unit activity.
