There are four levels of training.

A Safe Space, Level 1 – An introduction
All volunteers will need to do Level 1 (unless you’ve done A Safe Space training in the last three years.)
Complete it now by following the link: L1 e-learning
A Safe Space, Level 2 – Creating a safe space
You have 2 choices in how to complete this level.
You can attend a face-face session with the local training team – keep an eye on the county website for details: Girlguiding Oxfordshire events
Alternatively, you can complete the e-learning module by clicking here: L2 e-learning
AND then, by arranging a follow-up conversation with any one of the following people:
– Pat Hudson, County Safe Space Advisor and A Safe Space Trainer:
– Fiona Joines, Joint Lead for A Safe Space Rollout, Anglia Region and A Safe Space Trainer firstname.lastname@example.org 07899088991
– Your District Commissioner – once they have completed their own training up-to L4 – if you do not have a District Commissioner then,
– Your Division Commissioner – once they have completed their own training up-to L4
The previous Safe Space training is equivalent to Level 1 and 2 of this training but you must ensure you renew this every 3 years.
A Safe Space, Level 3 – Recognising, telling and taking action
Currently, Girlguiding Anglia Region are planning all L3 training and are focusing on Commissioners in the first instance.
If, however, you are an experienced professional within such fields as Education, Social Care, Health etc and already hold a Safeguarding qualification you may be able to complete it by doing the following 2 steps:

Then, complete the form here: L3 Recognising Prior Learning Form
You should then send that to Fiona or Pat (details above)along with all of the evidence listed.
A Safe Space, Level 4 – Managing concerns, allegations and disclosures
Currently, Girlguiding Anglia Region are planning all L4 training and are focusing on Commissioners in the first instance.

All E-learning will be added to GO by HQ and is currently taking upto 2 weeks, please be patient.
All other aspects of A Safe Space training are added by county, again, your patience is requested; we’re all volunteers.
